The Proper Way…
There’s a new Japanese BL heating up our radar—it’s called The Proper Way to Write Love. This live-action drama is adapted from the beloved short manga by おげれつたなか and premiered on TOKYO MX1 last July 13, 2025, airing Sundays at 25:05 (yes, that’s 1:05 AM). The series runs for eight episodes and is also available on streaming platforms like FOD and TVer. As for international release, right now it’s available at Gagaoolala, so better check that out!
Starring Genki Iwahashi and Ri Soma, this BL is giving tension, revenge, and unexpected feelings. Genki plays Hiro, a former introverted geek turned stylish beauty salon pro. Ri Soma takes on the role of Washi-sawa Natsuki, a cheerful guy who used to be bullied by Hiro back in high school.
Flash forward to the present—Hiro and Natsuki cross paths again. Natsuki seems oddly fond of Hiro, but instead of making peace, Hiro decides to get petty: “I’ll date him for a month and then dump him hard.” Classic bad plan. Because when it comes to matters of the heart, revenge never really goes the way you want it to.
